NaphCare Recognizes Social Work Month

March 1, 2023

March is recognized as Social Work Month – a time to acknowledge the commitment and compassion of professionals in the field of social work. During Social Work Month, we want to spotlight #TeamNaphCare Social Workers and Counselors and their valuable contributions to our patients and communities.

NaphCare Social Workers and Counselors operate in our corporate offices and corrections facilities across the country. They are essential to providing exceptional patient care while breaking barriers that prevent people and communities from thriving. Social Workers and Counselors serve in many different roles in corrections.

“We are advocates, counselors, educators, brokers and managers,” said Sabreena Hassim, Corporate Mental Health Director at NaphCare. “We are change makers, problem solvers, critical thinkers and the ones who hold space for the unheard to be seen.”

Whether supporting mental health programs or preparing patients for a safe and healthy return to the community, Social Workers and Counselors are a fundamental part of Team NaphCare.

“NaphCare Social Workers confront and break down the barriers of racism, social injustice and the stigma surrounding mental illness and justice-involvement every day. We also advocate, educate, empower, encourage and stand in the gap for those whose voices deserve to be heard,” said Lori Ellard, Clinical Director of Mental Health Services at NaphCare.

“Your work matters, especially on the hard days. I’m so thrilled that I get to make a difference alongside such a compassionate group of professionals,” said Hassim.

Thank you to all of our #TeamNaphCare Social Workers and Counselors for your dedication to our mission to improve and save lives!
